The New York Times has posted an article on why weight loss surgery helps some individuals loose weight when diets fail.

A recent study completed in December 2014 by the Veterans Affairs office shows further evidence that obese patients that have bariatric surgery live longer than those who do not.

The latest government report says nearly one in six young people tip the scales as obese. But ask moms and dads instead, and you might get a different story. Nearly half of parents underestimate heavy kids' weight, a new study finds.

No parent wants to label a child "fat". However, failing to face the truth can have real consequences for your son of daughter's health. After all, if you don't see your child's problem, you're less likely to search for a solution.

A recent study published in the journal Obesity Surgery examined information from over 50,000 patients and determined that patients who had weight loss surgery had a lower incident of cancer than obese patients who did not have the surgery. While these findings are still early, they show promise and provide an area for further studies.
